Booking Terms & Conditions

Thank you for trusting Upland Creative with your flowers. Before booking, please take a few minutes to read through the terms below. By submitting your deposit payment, you are agreeing to everything on this page.

If you have questions before you book, you're always welcome to reach out at hello@uplandcreative.com.

Communication

Once you're booked, we'll be in touch throughout the process to finalize your frame, size, layout, style, and payment. We ask for a 24 to 72 hour response window when we reach out. Even a quick acknowledgment that you received our message is helpful and appreciated.

Shipping & Drop-Off

You are responsible for shipping your flowers to us or arranging a local drop-off. Please remove any glass vases, pendants, charms, ribbons, or other decorative items from your bouquet before sending. Anything attached to or used to decorate your stems will not be returned to you.

Flower Condition

Your flowers will be pressed in the condition they arrive. If blooms come in bruised, damaged, or wilted, that same condition is likely to show in the finished piece. We always work with what we have and will do our best, but we are not able to restore damage that happened before pressing.

Color & Fading

Please read this section carefully.

Your flowers will change color. This is part of working with organic material, and it's something we want every client to understand and expect before booking.

Color changes happen in two ways. First, flowers transition from living to dying while in the press. The color going in may not be the color coming out. Whites, reds, purples, oranges, and some pinks are especially prone to shifting, though every flower behaves differently. Some reds press and stay red. Others shift to a deep, rich purple. Second, all pressed botanicals will gradually fade over time, especially with light exposure. Some colors hold up better than others, but fading is a natural part of owning a piece made from real flowers.

We want you to go into this process with a clear understanding of, and appreciation for, the organic nature of your piece.

Layout & Design

Please read this section carefully.

We use our professional judgment to design your piece, including which flowers to include, how much white space to use, and the overall composition. Once we've completed an initial design, we'll send you a mockup to review and approve.

A mockup is a starting point, not a finished piece. The final artwork will always look more refined and fluid, because things naturally shift and settle during the gluing process. Mockups give you a general sense of layout and color. They are not a pixel-perfect preview of the finished frame, and the final piece will not match the mockup exactly.

Caring for Your Piece

To keep your piece looking its best for as long as possible, please follow these guidelines.

Keep it out of direct sunlight. Choose a wall where the sun does not roll across it throughout the day. Avoid heat and humidity, and do not hang the piece above a stove, fireplace, or in a bathroom. Handle the frame with care, as it contains delicate organic material.

Shipping the Finished Piece

This section applies to clients receiving their piece by mail.

Pressed flower pieces are delicate, and shipping is hard on them. We glue everything down as securely as possible using techniques suited to each flower type, but some movement during transit is inevitable. You may notice small bits of organic debris (petals, seeds, tiny fragments) that have shifted or settled at the bottom of the frame. This is completely normal and is not a defect.

Over time, even a piece hanging peacefully on your wall will experience some natural shedding as the organic matter settles.

Deposit, Refunds & Timeline

Please read this section carefully.

Your $100 deposit is non-refundable. Your remaining balance is due before we begin designing your piece.

Completion timelines vary by season. Depending on our current volume, your finished piece may take anywhere from 2 to 4 months to complete. We truly appreciate your patience. Good work takes time, and we want yours to be worth the wait.
